Foley & Lardner LLP partner Jeffery Atkin shared perspective on energy sector trends for the year ahead in the Law360 article, “5 Energy Transactional Trends To Watch In 2025.”
Atkin, who co-chairs Foley’s Energy Sector, addressed the potential repeal of some or all of the Inflation Reducation Act by the incoming administration. “People are just trying to be in position, so they can claim they’ve started construction whenever that [rollback] goes into place,” he explained. “It has to happen sooner rather than later.”
Atkin also highlighted the continued interest from private equity in clean energy. “We’ve seen more and more private equity funds just entering the space directly, and through corporate acquisitions,” he added. “That seems to be continuing.”
