Matt S. Kiel

Senior Counsel

Overview

Matt Kiel is a senior counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is also a member of the firm's Transactions Practice and primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions.

Matt has experience representing issuers and underwriters in all aspects of corporate finance and capital markets transactions, including private offerings of equity and debt, buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, strategic investments, and corporate restructuring transactions.

Education

Matt earned his law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law (J.D., 2014). While there, Matt served as a managing editor on the Oregon Law Review (2013-2014), and as an extern for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Santa Cruz (B.A., with honors, 2011).

Community Engagement

Matt is an active member of the Associate Leadership Board of Public Counsel, the nation’s largest pro bono law firm. He also regularly attends Public Counsel’s Federal Pro Se Clinic where he advises underrepresented, indigent, and disenfranchised pro se litigants navigating the federal court system.
