Alexis Leineweber is a corporate associate and business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. Alexis concentrates her practice on capital markets transactions, representing issuers in connection with initial public offerings, secondary equity offerings and high yield offerings. Alexis also regularly advises publicly traded corporations and their executive officers and directors on corporate governance, SEC compliance and disclosure matters, stock exchange listing requirements, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Dodd-Frank Act, stockholder activism and proposals and fiduciary duties of directors and officers. In addition, she has extensive experience in the representation of numerous public and private companies in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations. She is a member of the firm’s Transactions and Capital Markets and Public Company Advisory practices and is a member of the Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) Team.
Prior to joining Foley, Alexis worked for a U.S. mutual fund transfer agent preventing fraudulent transactions by evaluating identity, validity, and acceptability of requests within the terms of IRS regulations, OFAC restrictions, and probate laws.
Alexis earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School (J.D., magna cum laude 2018). She was a member of the Marquette Law Review, earned CALI awards for achieving the highest grade in five of her classes, and was awarded the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Medal of Excellence. She is also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee (B.A., 2009), where she received her undergraduate degree in economics, political science and international affairs.
