Kristin M. McGaver



Kristin McGaver is an associate and litigation lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. She is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice.

Kristin was a law clerk for the Honorable Harry D. Leinenweber, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

During law school, Kristin was a summer associate at Foley and a student attorney with the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office in its mental health division in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was also a judicial extern for the Honorable John R. Tunheim, U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.


Kristin earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School (J.D., 2017), where she was elected to the Order of the Coif. She served as a research & managing editor on the Minnesota Law Review and as a legal writing instructor for first year law students. She was also a member of the Litigation and Trial Advocacy Group, Mock Trial Team, and Law Council. She is a recipient of the Dean’s Distinguished Scholarship, 3M Scholarship, and Mondale Hall Engagement Award.

She graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (B.A., 2013), where she majored in political science, sociology and legal studies.
