William J. (Bill) Robinson is partner en advocaat op het gebied van intellectueel eigendom bij Foley & Lardner LLP, waar hij zich voornamelijk bezighoudt met technologische geschillen en rechtszaken. Hij heeft meer dan 150 octrooizaken behandeld, waaronder 85 op het gebied van elektronica en computertechnologieën. Daarnaast heeft hij meer dan een dozijn zaken behandeld in Texas, waaronder het Eastern District. Bill heeft meer dan 140 gerapporteerde uitspraken op zijn naam staan en zijn juryuitspraken omvatten een schadevergoeding van 100 miljoen dollar wegens octrooi-inbreuk. Daarnaast heeft hij ook uitgebreide ervaring met auteursrecht, handelsmerken, bedrijfsgeheimen, antitrust, verzekeringen en FTC-rechtszaken over misleidende claims, evenals met advies en licenties op het gebied van intellectueel eigendom. Bill is ook voormalig voorzitter van de Intellectual Property Litigation Group bij Foley & Lardner.

Prior to joining Foley, Bill was a partner at the Los Angeles law firms of Mayer, Brown; Graham & James; and Poms, Smith, Lande & Rose.

In recognition of his experience, Bill has been Peer Review Rated as AV Preeminent®, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ system.  He has been a guest lecturer in patent/computer law at Southwestern University School of Law and listed in “The State’s Top Patent Lawyers,” (California Lawyer, March 1992). Bill was recommended by The Legal 500 US as a leading attorney in intellectual property matters (2007) and in the area of media, technology and telecoms: marketing and advertising (2015).  He also has been selected for inclusion in the 2009-2020 Southern California Super Lawyers® lists, and is on the 2020 Leader’s League “Recommended” list for patent litigation.
