Austin’s experience with regulatory compliance matters includes advising clients on issues related to the federal Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, state fraud and abuse laws, corporate practice of medicine, and certificate of need and other state law facility licensure and regulation.
Prior to joining Foley, Austin was an associate at an international law firm where he represented an array of health care entities, including hospitals and health systems, national surgery center management companies, private equity-backed physician practice platforms, and physician practices.

- Represents health system with sophisticated specialty pharmacy in various matters related to pharmacy contracting and regulatory compliance.
- Represents multiple health systems and other institutional clients in matters related to clinical and supply chain contract management and advise on regulatory implications of same, as applicable.
- Advises health system clients on various fraud and abuse matters, including Stark Law implications of provider compensation models.*
- Represented a private equity-backed physician practice platform in platform growth and development through acquisition of physician practices in various states.*
- Advised industry client on preparation of request for an advisory opinion for submission to the Office of Inspector General.*
