Justin J. Sorensen


Justin Sorensen uses his background in electrical engineering to help advanced industry and corporate organizations navigate complex matters and technical data to deliver clear, commercial results.

Justin enjoys working with high-caliber companies, from startups to global leaders, in the semiconductor, datacenter software, wireless communications, health care, automotive, and consumer electronics industries. His patent litigation skillset includes arguing evidentiary disputes and developing cross-examination outlines. He has experience taking depositions, drafting pleadings, and drafting invalidity and noninfringement expert reports. On the patent application front, Justin is a skilled technical writer — versed in drafting applications, claim amendments, and office action responses for pending U.S. and global patent applications. He is a member of the firm’s IP Litigation and Electronics Practices.

As an undergraduate research assistant at Brigham Young University, Justin helped design and fabricate miniaturized linear ion traps using lithographically patterned plates as part of the IMMERSE program for undergraduate research sponsored by Micron. Prior to Foley, Justin served as a corporate associate at several global firms, focusing on high-stakes litigation and commercial law.
