Trevor J. Will
Retired Partner
Trevor Will was a partner and litigation attorney with Foley & Lardner LLP, with a broad general litigation background and a focus on product liability, toxic torts, and utility facility permitting. He had extensive experience handling mass litigation and was responsible for defending numerous companies in asbestos matters across Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Trevor tried many of these cases to defense jury verdicts and argued asbestos‑related issues before the Supreme Courts of Wisconsin and Minnesota, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. In addition, he implemented and administered a cost‑effective system for investigating and resolving asbestos cases short of trial.
Beyond asbestos litigation, Trevor successfully argued the case that established Wisconsin precedent holding that when a commercial product fails without causing personal injury, the purchaser has no claim in negligence or strict liability and may sue only for breach of warranty, Sunnyslope Grading, Inc. v. Miller, Bradford & Risberg, Inc., 148 Wis. 2d 910, 437 N.W.2d 213 (1989). He also served as an adjunct professor at Marquette University Law School, where he taught a course in complex litigation.
Trevor was a former chair of the firm’s Product Liability Practice and was a member of the Automotive, Energy, and Insurance & Reinsurance Industry Teams, as well as the Commercial Litigation and Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Practices.
