Matthews Quoted on Judge Wendell Griffen’s Probe Request

Partner Michael Matthews was quoted in an Arkansas Times article, “Griffen asks probe of Ark. Supreme Court and AG’s office conduct,” covering his argument for why the Arkansas government mishandled the process to bar Judge Wendell Griffen from hearing any cases related to the death penalty. Griffen requested that the Arkansas Committee of Professional Conduct investigate the conduct of the Arkansas Attorney General, Arkansas Solicitor General, Deputy Solicitor General and Senior Assistant Attorney General in their decision process.

Matthews argued that “in the rush to ram through results, you can’t run roughshod over people’s rights.”
