Kate’s practice is focused on representing companies, accounting firms, financial institutions, and individuals in connection with investigations and proceedings by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). Her leadership skills and keen judgment provide a unique value proposition. She thrives in leveraging resources to maximize efficiencies and cultivating practical strategies to accomplish her clients’ goals. Kate’s ability to forge relationships across the table, whether with regulators, opposing counsel, or other key stakeholders, allows her to resolve investigations and litigations adeptly.

Kate has extensive experience with representation of accounting firms and their partners in enforcement proceedings before the SEC and PCAOB, defense of major financial institutions in investor lawsuits and trustee litigation, and internal and government investigations. She also has diverse experience with complex commercial litigation in federal and state court. In addition, Kate devotes a considerable amount of time to various pro bono efforts, including aiding juvenile immigrants and asylum applicants.

Prior to joining Foley, Kate served as a law clerk to The Honorable Susan C. Bucklew and to The Honorable James S. Moody, Jr., both of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Tampa, Florida. She also worked as a litigation associate with Mayer Brown LLP in New York, NY, where her practice concentrated on securities litigation, complex commercial litigation, and white collar matters.

Kate is a member of the Securities Enforcement & Litigation and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. She also serves as Foley’s Women’s Network coordinator for the New York office.
