Orlando Partner John Lord Jr. was quoted in a July 18, 2013 Law360 article titled “EEOC Case Shows Transgender Bias Claims Gaining Steam.” The article discusses the latest win for proponents of a broad reading of Title VII as a result of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s support for a recently settled harassment claim brought by a transgender worker. Mr. Lord was quoted saying, “Employers should include gender identity, along with things like race and gender among the protected categories in their anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies.”
