Judith Waltz Discusses Provider Relief Fund Settlements in OIG Investigations
October 4, 2021
Report on Medicare Compliance
Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Judith Waltz was quoted in a Report on Medicare Compliance article, “More Providers Settle CMP Cases Over PRF; OIG: Attestations Had False Information,” about two health providers that have settled allegations of false statements made in order to get money from the HHS Provider Relief Fund (PRF). Both civil monetary penalty settlements stemmed from affirmative enforcement actions by the HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG), based on information that was available to OIG, not self-disclosures.
“OIG is aggressively pursuing entities that don’t comply with the PRF terms and conditions and perhaps the same will be true of reporting requirements,” said Waltz.
