Patrick McMahon is a senior counsel and litigation attorney with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Government Enforcement Defense & Investigations, and Labor & Employment Practices.
While in law school, Mr. McMahon worked as a summer associate at Foley where he reviewed information technology contracts for due diligence in mergers and acquisitions. Previously he was a summer associate for Niro, Haller & Niro, assisting their intellectual property practice. Mr. McMahon was also an extern for the Honorable Edmond Chang in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Prior to law school, Mr. McMahon served as an officer in the United States Air Force from 2006 – 2012 at various national and international locations overseeing 20 plus airmen in roles that included leading a team to engineer, install and test a new AOC Weapon Systems; orchestrating a 12-week upgrade with ten agencies to relocate a $40 million European Air Operation Center; serving as aide de camp to an Air Force Major General in day-to-day events and devising long-term strategies; and directing support for air traffic control systems, weather radar, telephone, wireless, classified/unclassified data networks, and information management for over 6,000 customers.
Mr. McMahon received his law degree from DePaul University College of Law (J.D., summa cum laude, 2015), where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and was associate editor for the DePaul Law Review as well as a staff member of the DePaul College of Law Journal of Art, Technology, and Intellectual Property. Mr. McMahon earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the United States Air Force Academy (B.S., 2006), and was certified as a United States Air Force (USAF) Cyber Officer (2012).
Mr. McMahon is admitted to practice in Illinois. He is a member of the American Bar Association.
