Peter N. Wang is a litigation lawyer and managing partner of the New York City office of Foley & Lardner LLP and a former member of the firm’s national Management Committee. As one of the firm's senior trial lawyers, he has had substantial experience in a wide variety of litigation areas, and is a member of the Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Construction, Securities Enforcement & Litigation and IP Litigation Practices, as well as the Insurance & Reinsurance Industry Team.
Peter was a founding partner of Friedman, Wang & Bleiberg, P.C. before the firm joined Foley in July 2004.
From 1973 – 1974, Peter served as a law clerk to the Hon. Milton Pollack, United States District Judge, Southern District of New York.
Peter received his J.D. from Harvard University (cum laude, 1973) and his B.A. from Yale University (magna cum laude, 1970).
Peter is admitted to the New York Bar; U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York and Eastern District of New York; U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, Third Circuit, Fourth Circuit, Fifth Circuit, Seventh Circuit, Tenth Circuit and Eleventh Circuit.
He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York; Federal Bar Council; and in 2002 was inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, an organization limited to the 500 leading trial advocates in the world.
Peter has been peer review rated as AV Preeminent®, the highest performance rating in the Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ system.
Peter has been recognized as one of the Top 100 New York Super Lawyers® and has been selected for inclusion in the 2006 – 2019 New York Super Lawyers® lists. The "super lawyer" designation represents the top five percent of Manhattan attorneys in more than 60 areas of practice and Peter was one of the 100 highest point-getters in the New York Metro nomination.
