Aaron E. Chibli is a senior counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP. Aaron is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice. He is also the co-chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Action Council for the Dallas office and the Dallas office liaison for Foley’s Racial Justice Equity Practice Group. He is also a member of Foley’s Associates Committee.

Aaron is a seasoned trial lawyer that represents clients in all aspects of complex commercial litigation matters, from inception through completion, including pre-suit investigation, preliminary negotiations, pleading/motion practice, discovery, mediation, settlement, trial or arbitration and appeal. Aaron routinely handles large, high-stakes commercial matters including cases involving:

In addition to trying cases, Aaron has experience representing companies in investigations and/or enforcement proceedings by the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). He has represented companies in government and internal investigations and litigation relating to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the False Claims Act (FCA).

Aaron Chibli has years of significant experience trying high-stakes commercial cases, including jury trials, bench trials, injunctions, and arbitration. He has been first and second chair at trials and injunction hearings where he conducted opening and closing statements, taken direct and cross examinations of key witnesses and experts, and argued pre-trial matters, including motions for limine and objections to deposition designations and exhibit/witness lists. Aaron has first-chaired a five-day bench trial and secured a +$1.25 million verdict, co-chaired a trial team that obtained receivership and associate injunctive relief, and co-chaired a trial team that obtained a unanimous defense verdict for an oil and gas company in a federal jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Aaron’s accolades include being honored as one of the 2024 D Magazine Best Lawyers Under 40 as well as being awarded the “Ones to Watch for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Commercial Litigation” by Best Lawyers©.

  • Represented transportation companies in a case arising from a contract for ADA paratransit and microtransit services. Trial court granted Rule 91a motion and dismissed contract and tort claims; effectively dropping the amount in controversy from $5.3 million to $200,000.
  • First-chaired a 5-day bench trial and secured +$1.25 million verdict in favor of business intelligence firm against large healthcare organization.
  • Co-chaired trial team that obtained receivership and associated injunctive relief in connection with Texas LLC partnership dispute.
  • Member of trial team that obtained injunction to restrain/enjoin former executive from participating with a competing business.
  • Member of trial team that obtained $10 million jury verdict in favor of food industry client.
  • Represented majority owner and manager of Texas LLC in connection with a to multimillion-dollar partnership dispute brought by minority owner. Negotiated favorable settlement.
  • Defended oil and gas company in multimillion-dollar breach of contract dispute against major exploration and production company. Negotiated favorable settlement.
  • Represented defrauded shareholders and investors to recover losses arising from the improper dilution of shares and breach of stock purchase agreement. Negotiated favorable settlement.
  • Represented five-star Division 1 basketball player in connection with high-profile dispute with his former marketing agency. Negotiated favorable settlement.
  • Co-chaired trial team that obtained unanimous defense verdict for oil and gas company in federal jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas*
  • Represented financial institution against guarantors of a note in commercial lending dispute. Trial court granted summary judgment on all claims and awarded client $8.9 million in damages*
