Laura Ganoza Highlights the Lawyering Behind The Met Gala

Foley & Lardner LLP partner Laura Ganoza highlighted the behind-the-scenes role of fashion and intellectual property lawyers at major celebrity events in the Law360 article, “Hair, Makeup, Legal: The Lawyering Behind The Met Gala.”

“They think, ‘Oh, I’m in the picture. I can just post this amazing picture of me in this incredible outfit,'” explained Ganoza, who is co-chair of Foley’s Fashion, Apparel & Beauty Industry Group.

“But it’s the photographer that usually is going to have the copyrights, and the celebrities have to get permission,” she added.
