March 9, 2022
Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Judith Waltz will be inducted into Indiana University Maurer School of Law’s Academy of Law Alumni Fellows (ALAF) in April 2022. The ALAF comprises the law school’s most distinguished alumni, recognizing those who have distinguished themselves in their careers through personal achievements and dedication to the highest standards of the legal profession. Waltz is one of five alumni this year to receive this recognition, which is the law school’s highest honor. She is also a long-standing member of the Board of Visitors for the law school, having served since 2009.
Waltz is co-chair of Foley’s Health Care & Life Sciences Sector – Providers of Health Care Services. She is also co-chair of the firm’s Health Care Practice Group, former co-chair of the Health Care Industry Team and the Life Sciences Industry Team. Her practice focuses on government investigations, false claims act, corporate integrity agreements (CIAs), reimbursement strategies, Medicare and Medicaid compliance counseling, and Medicare/Medicaid overpayments and enrollment disputes.
Waltz is a former member of the Health Law Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California, and a current member of the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section, the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys, and the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA). She previously served as chair and a vice chair of the Regulation, Accreditation and Payment Practice Group of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA), and remains an active member of AHLA.
Prior to joining Foley in 1998, Waltz served as assistant regional counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in San Francisco.
