Each year, the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association recognizes LGBTQ+ legal professionals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their field and have demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBTQ+ equality. 2024 was a highly competitive year for this award, and Harrington was selected from a pool of nearly 150 qualified candidates.
Harrington is a leader, both at Foley and in the broader community, and she has held leadership roles across several associations dedicated to uplifting women’s rights and LGBTQ+ members in the law, energy industry, and more. Harrington recently joined the Board of Directors for Grace Place, a non-profit organization in Houston that provides resources, food, mentorship, and skills building to youth of all sexualities and genders who are experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. She is an active member of the Houston Bar Association’s LGBTQ+ Committee and currently serves as a Co-Chair for the Houston Young Lawyers Association’s (HYLA) Women Lawyers Committee.
Harrington spent the past six years as a trustee on the board for the Houston Association of Women Attorneys (AWA) Foundation, a non-profit that raises money to fund fellowships and scholarships for women graduates of Houston-area law schools. She previously served as Co-Chair of the HYLA Leadership Academy, Vice President of Communications for the AWA, and as a member of Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner’s LGTBQ Advisory Board.
Honorees will be recognized during the 2024 Lavender Law® Conference and Career Fair in Washington, D.C.
