As a registered patent attorney, Michael Dubner’s practice involves all aspects of intellectual property law, with particular emphasis on domestic and international patent and trademark procurement and representing clients in connection with technology transactions, including negotiating professional services agreements, technology development agreements, cloud based service agreements, technology and software licenses, and service level agreements. In addition, Michael regularly counsels clients regarding the avoidance of third party intellectual property rights by identifying such rights, giving opinions concerning non-infringement and validity, and counseling clients with respect to non-infringing alternatives.

Michael has represented clients in intellectual property disputes in both federal and state courts, as well as representing and defending clients before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the United States Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Michael’s mechanical engineering background has enabled him to represent clients in connection with oil and gas equipment, medical devices, computer hardware, computer software, internet technology, plus a wide range of consumer devices.

Michael serves as Dallas Office Chair for Intellectual Property.
