Ajita Hanel works in our Business Law department as a member of the firm’s Health Care Practice Group and is based in the Houston office. Prior to joining Foley, she was affiliated with the University of Houston as a student attorney, representing clients in a variety of matters, including divorce, child custody, and probate. Ajita also interned with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
Ajita began at Foley as a summer associate, clerking during her second year of law school where she focused on assisting clients in various types of regulatory and compliance matters. Her experience includes providing analyses on state laws affecting health care providers and federal health care statutes and regulations, such as the federal Anti-Kickback statute, the Stark Law, and the False Claims Act.
Prior to law school, Ajita was a technology consultant with Accenture where she developed and implemented data management and governance solutions for her clients.
