On February 27, Foley associate Lauren Carboni is speaking at the American Health Law Association (AHLA) Long Term and Post-Acute Care Law and Compliance Conference in a presentation titled “Survey Enforcement Appeal Process.” This session will provide members of the audience:
- Practical guidance for navigating the long-term care facility survey process.
- An overview of the survey enforcement appeal process.
- Practical tips to navigate the enforcement appeal process, including managing deadlines, making the determination to appeal to the Departmental Appeals Board (DAB), strategies to approaching Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding settlement, and more.
This session will provide additional tools for Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities to confidentially navigate the survey itself and how to put forth its best case if it faces such adversity that is the survey enforcement appeals process.
This year’s AHLA Long Term and Post-Acute Care Law and Compliance Conference will be an informative meeting where some of the leading in-house and outside lawyers, compliance officers, consultants, and other advisors for the long-term care industry will be presenting on legal, compliance, and operational issues faced by providers. Sessions will focus on cutting edge issues that are front and center within the post-acute continuum.
