April 2025 Midwest Cyber Security Alliance Meeting | Cyber Litigation and Enforcement Trends

Join us on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the next Midwest Cyber Security Alliance Meeting. Foley & Lardner Partners Jen Urban, Peter Loh, and Joe Swanson will present the latest on data breach fact patterns and incident response, as well as government enforcement matters and litigation in the wake of a data breach. The discussion will cover several important topics, including:

• Recent data breach trends, including the latest data on ransomware payments
• The latest trends in government enforcement, including False Claims Act litigation, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement actions, and state attorneys general enforcement actions
• An overview of data breach litigation, such as common allegations and claims, defenses, and discovery issues, including the application of attorney-client privilege and the work product doctrine for forensic reports

Continuing Legal Education (CLE)

For programs that meet CLE accreditation standards, applications for accreditation will be submitted to CO, FL, NY, and WI (50-minute hour); and CA, IL, NC, TX, UT, and VA (60-minute hour) for up to 1.50 credit hours. Uniform Certificates of Attendance will be provided to attendees licensed in other jurisdictions so that they may self-apply for credit if permitted by their jurisdiction(s). Certificates of Attendance will be emailed to eligible participants approximately eight weeks after the program.
