WFAA-TV Channel-8, ABC affiliate for Dallas-Fort Worth, reported on a Texas judge throwing out a jury decision awarding $14 million to victims of Internet libel. Gardere Partner Peter S. Vogel, chair of the Firm's Internet, eCommerce, and Technology Industry Team, was interviewed on June 13 for the story.
"…I think that this Lesher case is probably a great indicator that we're going to see more cases like this where people will challenge these anonymous postings that are libelous," says Mr. Vogel. "And I think that's the right thing to happen."
