Houston Matters featured the 18th Annual Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition, speaking with Gardere Operating Partner Claude R. Treece and first-place winner Amari Venzor from Cornelius Elementary School. This year, Houston and Dallas ISD fourth- and fifth-grade students were invited to give their own interpretations of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech, answering the question, “If Dr. King were speaking at a March on Washington today, what would he say?”
