Shankar Comments on Medicaid Request for Data on Medical Equipment Spending
29 November 2017
Senior Counsel Anil Shankar is quoted in a Bloomberg BNA Health Care Daily Report article, “Medicaid Seeks Data on Medical Equipment Spending,” about the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ proposal to gather more detailed information on states’ spending on durable medical equipment.
Shankar said the proposal appears to be aiming to “ensure greater transparency in the calculation” of the durable medical equipment upper payment limit, which is the most reimbursement a state Medicaid program can pay a type of provider for a service.
