Fredericksen Quoted on Former Va. Governor’s Corruption Case
August 29, 2016
The Washington Post
Partner Scott Fredericksen was quoted in a Washington Post article, “Prosecutors Get Delay in Bob McDonnell Case,” on August 29, 2016. The article discussed the federal appeals court move to grant Virginia prosecutors three weeks to respond to the Supreme Court decision overturning former governor Robert F. McDonnell’s corruption conviction. Fredericksen said, “This delay, which is very unlike the [Eastern District of Virginia] is, I think, because they are smarting from the loss and … trying to figure out if they can somehow find a way to save face. I think there is huge internal dispute because they’re not used to losing … and they feel very strongly that the governor did wrong.”
