Employment law issues often are amenable to class action treatment, and plaintiffs’ lawyers are taking full advantage of every opportunity to litigate class action claims against employers. This session provided an overview of the various types of employment claims typically being litigated as class actions, identified the newest trends and developments in employment class action litigation, and offered some guidance on how to avoid being the next litigation target.

On May 22, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a significant decision in Kousisis v. United States, affirming a six-year prison sentence for a contractor convicted of federal wire fraud for misrepresenting use of a disadvantaged business enterprise supplier on a project.
