On October 11, 2007, Foley Partner Chris Rossman presented, “Medical Education Issues: Reimbursement, Financial, Compliance,” at the 54th Annual Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Fall Conference in Plymouth, MI. In his presentation, Mr. Rossman focused on intersecting reimbursement and legal issues affecting the operation of medical education programs. Topics included current Medicare requirements for indirect and direct medical education payments (IME/GME), Medicare compliance requirements and issues relating to resident participation in research, physician supervision requirements and other timely developments.
