Foley's Health Care Industry Team invites you to participate in the Clinical Research Breakfast Briefing Series, designed to keep you up to date on emerging topics in clinical research today. Session one is titled: National Institutes of Health Clinical Research Opportunities.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Extramural Research Program is the largest single sponsor of clinical research projects in the world, making it a critical funding source for any research program. Fierce competition and complex compliance requirements have often discouraged investigators and institutions from seeking NIH research grants. To the contrary, the NIH is actively expanding the pool of available researchers through new collaborations and partnerships to advance the translation of clinical research.

This session will focus on exploring various opportunities for investigators and institutions to collaborate with the NIH, and on examining and addressing compliance concerns. In addition, investigators and institutions will have an opportunity to enroll in the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke Clinical Research Collaboration (NINDS CRC), a nationwide effort to expand the pool of investigators to research neurological diseases.

Presenters:

  • Brandy Fureman, Ph.D. is the Clinical Research Project Manager for the Division of Extramural Research, National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, and is the project leader for the NINDS CRC initiative.
