Boswell, Executive Director of the City of Chicago, Office of Compliance and Colleen Waring, Retired Deputy City Auditor for the City of Austin, Texas. Their session is titled: "Introduction to Compliance for Cities and Municipalities." Topics to be covered include:

  • What are the basic elements of a municipal compliance program?
  • How to start a compliance and ethics program in local government
  • How to sell the elected and appointed officials on the benefits of a strong ethical culture
  • Examples of different sized cities’ programs

Ms. Wagonhurst will also be speaking on September 15, 2008 from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Her session is titled "Why Cities, States and Municipalities Need Compliance Programs.
