Financially troubled franchisees are an unfortunate fact of life, but the world of bankruptcy law can be a foreign land to the general franchise practitioner. This program will provide an overview of the bankruptcy process and how it can impact a franchise relationship, from both the franchisor’s and the franchisee’s perspective. The panelists will also discuss the steps parties can take to better position themselves in the event of a bankruptcy filing.
