This webinar will explain and consider the effects of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act on financings for nonprofit hospitals and other facilities. Highlights include:

  • Advance refunding bond repeal including the effect on bond structure and the consideration of possible alternatives, including "forward" bonds, swaps, taxable advance refundings, "acquisition financing" and defeasance transactions
  • Ongoing risks of tax law change such as the possible risk of repeal in infrastructure legislation and structures and strategies to minimize tax law change risk, particularly concerning tax "reissuance"
  • Implications of reduction in federal corporate income tax rate and the effects on competitiveness of bank financing including a discussion of publicly offered variable rate structures
