Foley Welcomes Hotel Industry Veteran Margalit

Foley is pleased to announce that Nir E. Margalit has joined the firm’s Real Estate Practice and Hospitality, Resort and Golf Industry Team as a partner. Prior to joining Foley, Margalit was a Principal at NEM Hospitality Consulting. Throughout his career he has served in various roles at the most senior levels of the hotel business, including involvement as an owner, manager, investor, and lessee/lessor.

Margalit brings more than 25 years of hotel experience to Foley, focusing his practice on real estate development and operations, finance and investment, growth strategy, management agreements, regulatory compliance and corporate administration, among other issues facing the industry.

Prior to his role with NEM, Margalit served as General Counsel to a family holding company of the global interest of a Forbes billionaire, including the majority interest in a global publically traded hospitality company. He oversaw the global business and their philanthropic and personal interests. Earlier in his career, Margalit served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for a number of large corporations, among them Kimpton Group Holding LLC, ZipRealty Inc., Best Western International Inc., Unison Healthcare Corporation and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.

Margalit is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He began his professional career as a law clerk and then an associate at Krupin, Carr, Morris & Graeff in Washington, D.C., and he later became a founding partner of Margalit, Yellott & Cooper.

Margalit’s wealth of hotel, legal and management experience will add strength to the firm’s existing team of outstanding attorneys while helping to solidify Foley as one of the top hospitality firms in the country.
