E-Commerce Times enlisted the expertise of Gardere Partner Peter S. Vogel, chair of the Firm's Internet, eCommerce and Technology Industry Team, for an article about Yahoo and Facebook settling their patent infringement lawsuits against each other. The two companies decided to brainstorm ways to collaborate on advertising.
"This happens often in a settlement — businesses see the opportunity to cross-license other technologies as well," says Mr. Vogel.
