News channels in Dallas featured the 2018 Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition on various broadcasts, highlighting the students’ speeches as they respond to the question, “What is your dream for today’s world?”

Prior to the Dallas final competition, Gardere chair Holland N. O’Neil and finalist Skye Turner sat down with Deborah Ferguson of NBC DFW to discuss the upcoming finals, and to talk about how the then-finalist and now second-place winner prepared for her day on the stage.

“I would practice 10 times a day with my parents and my teachers,” said Skye.

The complete NBC DFW broadcast preview on the Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition is available here.

Following the competition in Dallas, WFAA’s Alisha Laventure interviewed Gardere chair Holland N. O’Neil and competition winner Wesley Stoker, who said “My favorite part of my speech was the part that my dad suggested. I may not look like Dr. King, but I believe like Dr. King.”
