D Magazine Recognizes Three Foley Gardere Attorneys on Its 2019 ‘Best Lawyers Under 40’ List

Three Foley Gardere lawyers have been included in D Magazine’s 2019 list of the Best Lawyers Under 40, which recognizes outstanding young lawyers in the North Texas area. They are:

Rachel Kingrey O’Neil, senior counsel in the Litigation Department. Rachel represents clients in a variety of complex litigation matters, including director, officer and shareholder disputes, fiduciary duty claims, health care business disputes, business fraud claims, breach of contract, banking and intellectual property disputes. She handles litigation matters from inception through completion, including pre-suit investigation, motion and pleading practice, discovery, mediation, settlement, trial and appeal.

Thomas Charles Scannell, senior counsel in the Litigation Department. Thomas primarily focuses on the restructuring of companies in and out of bankruptcy, debtors’ and creditors’ rights, and debtor-in-possession financers. Thomas also counsels his clients on out-of-court workouts, turnarounds, and the acquisition and sale of distressed assets.

Chelsea Hilliard, associate in the Litigation Department. Chelsea’s practice focuses primarily on complex commercial matters in a wide variety of industries and regions. She is experienced in all aspects of trial and arbitration practice, covering a wide array of legal issues, including breach of contract, fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duty and shareholder disputes.

To compile the list, the editors at D Magazine asked lawyers with a valid Texas Bar number to nominate two attorneys outside their firms and one within their firms. After the votes are tallied, an anonymous panel of lawyers meets with the editors to evaluate the list, and winning lawyers are selected based on the evaluations.
