Senior Counsel Nick Welle was quoted in a Bloomberg Law article, “Attorneys Brace for More Lawsuits Over Health Insurance Notices,” about expectations that the COVID-19 pandemic could spark a fresh wave of litigation over the health notices employers are required to send employees who are let go.
With the millions of employees being laid off, Welle said, it only makes sense to expect more litigation over the COBRA notices that will follow. “When there’s a recession typically there’s an increase in lawsuits,” he said.
