Overview

George D. Cunningham is a retired partner with Foley & Lardner LLP. He practiced within the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice.

Since joining the firm in 1973, Mr. Cunningham concentrated on the practice of traditional labor law on behalf of management. During that 35-year period, he handled several hundred arbitration cases, NLRB matters, union election campaigns, and labor negotiations. For most clients, Mr. Cunningham has acted as a strategic partner with the client's human resources staff and employment lawyers on all labor and employee relations subjects.

Mr. Cunningham graduated, with high honors, from the City College of the City University of New York and is a member of the academic honorary society, Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University, where he was lead articles editor and a member of the executive board for the Journal of Law and Policy in International Business.

Mr. Cunningham was Peer Review Rated as AV® Preeminent™, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system and was listed for many years in The Best Lawyers in America®. He was also selected for inclusion in the 2007 and 2008 Wisconsin Super Lawyers® lists.
