Martin Traber is a retired partner and business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. His practice focused on corporate securities and public companies. Mr. Traber was a member of the firm’s Transactional & Securities and Private Equity & Venture Capital Practices and its Technology Industry Team.
Formerly a partner in the 500-attorney Cleveland, Ohio, firm of Arter & Hadden, he served 10 years on the firm's Management Committee (including a term as chief executive) and was national chairman of both the Business and Corporate Department and of the Marketing and Business Development Committee.
Mr. Traber practiced in corporate finance and securities law for over 30 years. His areas of emphasis included representation of companies in public and private securities offerings, roll-ups, and mergers and acquisitions. He represented several public and privately-held technology clients.
Mr. Traber has been Peer Review Rated as AV® Preeminent™, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system and was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America©. In 2007-2014, he was recognized by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers in the areas of corporate/M&A & private equity. Mr. Traber served as an associate professor of law at Cleveland State University School of Law, where he developed and taught a course on financing.
Mr. Traber graduated magna cum laude and first in his class from Indiana University School of Law in 1970, where he was an associate editor of the Law Review.
