Cullen Werwie is a trusted advisor whose practice as a member of Foley’s Tax, Benefits & Estate Planning and Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Groups is informed by his previous careers in the health insurance industry and state government.
Prior to law school, Cullen worked as the director of operations for a health insurance company and for the State of Wisconsin. For the health plan, he directed vendor negotiations and contracting, managed the account retention team, and assisted with the restructuring of the company from a joint venture to a wholly owned subsidiary of a health system. During this time, he assisted in the negotiations of key contracts including an RFP that led to the selection of a new pharmacy benefit manager. While with the state, Cullen served as an aide in the Assembly, Senate, and executive branch, and as the Governor’s spokesperson.
