The New England Alliance of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) Winter Regional Conference and Annual Meeting

Larry Vernaglia and Charles Dougherty will be speaking at The New England Alliance of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) Winter Regional Conference and Annual Meeting, Wednesday, January 17 – 19, 2007 in Woodstock, VT.

Their seminar entitled “Legal Update” will take place Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. ET.

Mr. Dougherty will be speaking on the impact of the new Bankruptcy Reform Act to nursing facilities. Among other things, the new Bankruptcy Act makes significant changes to the abilities of patients and other persons and companies owing money to your facility to avoid their debts through bankruptcy. This presentation will give operators the information they need to know their rights under the new law.

Mr. Vernaglia will be speaking on the business and legal responses caused by difficult residents and difficult families. Facilities need to know not only their legal rights to evict residents (a drastic last resort), but also what they can do to avoid problems that escalate to that point. This program will focus on the practical as well as legal approaches to these issues.
