Associate Geoffrey Goodale will serve as moderator for a program titled “A New Era for CFIUS: The Proposed Regulations and Their Possible Implications” hosted by the DC Bar Association and co-sponsored by the ABA Section of International Law’s International Trade Committee on Thursday, May 29.
The program will address how recently proposed regulations would reform the process by which the multi-agency Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) conducts national security reviews of certain foreign investments in U.S. businesses. Speakers from the U.S Department of the Treasury, the Defense Department, the international business community, and private practitioners will discuss the proposed rule and its possible implications and will provide insights on CFIUS developments that have occurred since the enactment of the Foreign Investment and National Security Act of 2007 (FINSA).
