Mayor Mike Rawlings, on Behalf of the Dallas City Council, Recognizes Gardere's 20th Year Hosting the Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition
Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP hosted its 20th Annual Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition in Dallas on Jan. 13 at The Majestic Theatre. At the competition, Mike Rawlings, mayor of the City of Dallas, congratulated Managing Partner Steve Good on another successful event with a Certificate of Special Recognition. On behalf of the Dallas City Council, Mayor Rawlings honored Gardere's commitment to the program which was established by the Firm to encourage the development of research, writing and oratory skills of Dallas ISD elementary school children through the study of the life and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Since its inception in 1993, the competition has spread to Houston, celebrating its 16th annual event this year, and Austin whose competition was co-sponsored by Gardere and the Austin Area Heritage Council.
