Collective Bargaining Challenges Posed by Health Care Reform: What Should Unionized Employers Be Doing Now?
There are immediate (2013), near-term (2014), and longer-term (2018) requirements and challenges presented by the PPACA. Many of the issues presented by the law implicate collective bargaining issues and, at the very least, an effective strategy for communicating with a union and bargaining unit employees on these issues will be key. Savvy labor relations and HR professionals are planning now to design compliance approaches that can be accomplished within the context of their collective bargaining relationships.
