Gardere Partner Erika D. Benson and Associate Daniel Aranda have been slated to speak on energy topics at the Border Energy Forum XX. Ms. Benson will be speaking during the Thursday-morning session on solar development in the border region, and Mr. Aranda will be discussing the legal implications of the Mexican Energy Reforms at the Friday-morning session.
Now in its 20th year, the Border Energy Forum is a collaborative effort among the 10 border states along the United States/Mexico border to exchange ideas about the best ways to produce and consume energy in the region. The conference will be held November 6-8, 2013 at the Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk-Downtown.
Ms. Benson is a partner in the Firm's Government Affairs Practice Group and is a member of the Energy Industry Team. A former senior advisor for the Americas in the Office of Policy and International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy, Ms. Benson focuses her practice on policy and regulatory issues, specifically focusing on energy, government affairs and Latin America law.
Mr. Aranda is an associate in the Firm's Mexico City office, Gardere, Arena y Asociados, S.C., where he has a comprehensive legal practice focused on energy, infrastructure, government procurement, corporate reorganizations, and both domestic and cross-border transactional business matters.
