This course is a practical discussion of hot topics in telemedicine law and policy. Audience Q&A will be encouraged, and there will be a strong emphasis on policy approaches and how differences among these new laws and rules affect the marketplace.
Participants will:
- Learn about evolving payment policy for telehealth services (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance state laws, risk-based payments).
- Discuss trends in state medical board telemedicine practice standards, plus the impact of antitrust concerns on the rulemaking process.
- Understand changes to telemedicine-based remote prescribing, including controlled substances, under state law and the Ryan Haight Act.
Serving as a public resource on selected health care legal issues, AHLA educates members, their clients, and local communities on important health law issues. To learn more and register for this event, visit the AHLA conference website.
