Foley Gardere Sponsors 2018 U.S.-Mexico Bar Association Conference in Mexico City
Foley Gardere is proud to count itself among the sponsors of the 24th Annual U.S.-Mexico Bar Association Conference. The conference will be held in Mexico City Oct. 10-12.
Founded in 1994, the association was originally established as the Texas-Mexico Bar Association to represent the Texas-Mexico border area. Two years later, the organization grew to include all attorneys and law students in both countries.
The purpose of the association is to develop an understanding of each country’s legal systems and practices, as well as the cultural differences between the two nations. The association also encourages the exchange of professional information among its members to enable both private practice and public sector attorneys in each country to better serve their communities and clients.
The USMBA also promotes development of infrastructure for the provision of legal services and the resolution of controversies, and to share experiences in dealing with matters of common interest. In doing so, the association seeks to avoid unnecessary conflicts without adopting or favoring any particular political standing.
