Vogel to Present on Special Masters in eDiscovery and Complex Technology Litigation

Of Counsel Peter Vogel will present on the use of special masters in eDiscovery and complex technology litigation before the Solo/Small Firm Section of the Dallas Bar Association on January 9, 2019.

Both the Texas and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure include procedures for the appointment of Special Masters to assist litigants and Judges deal with complex legal and evidentiary issues such as eDiscovery, computer technology, engineering, or other highly technical matters.

Vogel’s presentation will include a discussion of specific cases in which Special Masters have assisted Texas and Federal Courts. The ABA established a Special Master Committee in 2016 which has studied the appointment of Special Masters in State and Federal Courts and established the Special Master Guidelines which are anticipated being approved by the ABA House of Delegates this year.
