Medicare Advantage: 2023 Final Rule Focuses on Social Determinants of Health and Utilization Review
Foley Partner Judith Waltz, Co-Chair of the Firm’s Health Care Practice Group and Associate Alexandra “Allie” Shalom will be presenting their article, “Medicare Advantage: 2023 Final Rule Focuses on Social Determinants of Health and Utilization Review,” at the upcoming American Health Law Association’s (AHLA) RAP Practice Group networking call on June 7.
This panel will provide an in-depth analysis of the Final Rule issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which amends regulations for Medicare Advantage (MA), Medicare Cost Plan, the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit programs, and Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the elderly. Set to take effect on June 5, 2023, the presentation will focus on the Final Rule’s health equity and utilization management provisions, suggesting the changes may have significant impact on MA Organizations (MAOs), providers and suppliers of services to MAOs, and Medicare managed care beneficiaries.
This AHLA Regulation Accreditation and Payment (RAP) Practice Group networking call is a unique opportunity to connect with professionals who share an interest in regulatory, accreditation, and payment issues affecting the healthcare industry. Following the presentation, there will be an open forum discussion where participants can ask questions, share insights, and connect with one another.
