As part of NFT.NYC 2023, Andy Lee (Of Counsel, New York) spoke during the following panel sessions:
- Managing NFT Projects Successfully and Legally | 2:30 p.m. – 2:55 p.m.
Wednesday, April 12
NFT projects continue to evolve into real businesses with real legal and operational needs. Gone are the days of ‘drop first, organize later.’ Recent legal decisions, SEC enforcement actions, and executive/legislative proposals are beginning the evolution of the regulatory landscape, IP/contractual issues, and risk management in the NFT industry. Despite the turbulence of the crypto-money market, the tech side, including NFTs, remains a target for venture capital and private equity investment. The writing on the wall is clear that NFTs will be a core aspect of the future of technology, in new and exciting ways. This session will address the overall nuts & bolts of the issues that every NFT project needs to consider and address.
- NFTs May Be Securities – Dapper Labs Case Ruling | 11:40 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 13
This session will discuss developments from the Dapper Labs litigation and how it will impact the classification (or not) of NFTs as securities for purposes of regulation.
